Rumus:  Subject + To be + Complement

Sebagaimana yang telah dijelaskan, to be ‘was’ atau ‘were’ akan digunakan dalam kalimat jenis ini. Namun perlu diketahui bahwa to be ‘was’ akan digunakan jika subjeknya adalah ‘I’, ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, atau nama orang tunggal.

Sedangkan to be ‘were’ dipakai saat subjeknya berupa kata ganti ‘they’, ‘we’, atau nama orang jamak.

To be ‘was’ akan digunakan jika subjeknya adalah ‘I’, ‘he’, ‘she’, ‘it’, atau nama orang tunggal. Sedangkan to be ‘were’ dipakai saat subjeknya berupa kata ganti ‘they’, ‘we’, atau nama orang jamak.
